The Folger Shakespeare Library has begun its year-long, 50-state tour exhibiting original First Folios at various universities and museums.

NPR reported that the tour kicked off yesterday at its first stop, the Sam Noble Museum in Norman, Oklahoma. A mere 18 of the Folger Library’s 82 First Folio copies were chosen for the exhibit, and of those 18, only six are to be displayed at one time.

One of these rare First Folios will be exhibited at the University of South Carolina April 11 to May 1, coinciding with the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s April 23 death date. USC is the only South Carolina college scheduled on the Folger Library’s tour.

The Folger Library has posted the full tour schedule on its official website.
